Such an interesting read…thanks for sharing Comfort!
I also get that feeling of going above and beyond for someone and their show of gratitude is not in any way commensurate with how much time or resources I invested in being of help to them. Maybe it’s a sign of entitlement on our part but it still doesn’t negate how important it is to show gratitude. From the passage, I also noticed that the Bible emphasised that the leper who returned was a Samaritan…why did the writer feel the need to include his identity?? That could be a pointer to the fact that the rest of the lepers were actually Jews (I can’t prove this) who felt entitled to being healed…but imagine a Samaritan who was probably alien to the ministry of Jesus and was amazed that He was merciful enough to heal him. May God help us never to take His grace for granted. May our soul continually bless God and forget not all of His benefits.
That’s true, there’s that feeling of entitlement. But even if it’s our right, the fact that we can’t get it done ourselves makes Thanksgiving important.
Amen and amen 🙏 May God fill us with the heart of gratitude 🙏
